Immerse yourself in the rich cultural tapestry of Hue on a full-day sightseeing tour of the city and its scenic surroundings. Depart from your centrally located Hue hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan and venture to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed wonder of Hue Citadel, a majestic walled city replete with regal tombs, sacred temples and ornate pagodas. Delve into the fascinating past of the complex as your guide offers historical narration then climb onto a bicycle to ride past picturesque paddies and quaint towns.

Pedal through Hue’s stunning countryside and arrive at a village that specializes in making incense; inhale the enticing aromas of the fragrance then revitalize with a flavorsome lunch. Sated, head to some of Hue’s most impressive tombs then visit the Tiger Arena to learn of past brutality and eccentric emperors of the 20th century.

After that, we will take a calming cruise down the Perfume River, an enchanting stretch of waters thronged with stunning scenery and impressive bridges. Disembark your boat then return to your comfortable coach for the journey back to your hotel in Hue city.

In the afternoon, we will describe about the sunset on Chuon Lagoon by bike and boat where we find traditional architecture, pavilions and rice fields on a 4-hour bike tour from Hue to the picturesque Chuon Lagoon, then explore the lagoon by boat. Follow the Nhu Y River through historical neighborhoods and farmland, tracing an easy-going route to the edge of the lagoon. Visit stilt houses, watch local fisherman and dine on grilled seafood and local beer before returning to Hue by car.

You and your guide start take a bike ride near the village of Vinh Ve by Tam Giang Lagoon. Pedal at a relaxed pace with plenty of time to enjoy the views—you’ll cover 7.5 miles (12 km) during the 1.5-hour ride. Take in the traditional lines of historical pavilions, elegant remnants of pre-war Vietnam that survived extensive bombing.

Leave the city behind for picturesque rice fields—alternately green or gold, depending on the season—and watch farmers at work in their paddies. When you reach Chuon Lagoon, trade your bicycle for a seat on a boat. Learn about daily life and culture as you explore, stopping to visit the houses that local people build on stilts, elevated above the surface of the water. Then finish the day at your Hue hotel.
